Histological Staining

Context:

Routine staining provides a global view of tissue morphology (nucleus, cytoplasm, and collagen).

Special stains make it possible to examine the same tissue section (as with a routine stain) while specifically highlighting particular tissue components such as collagen fibres, mucopolysaccharides, or lipids.

Equipment:

The Leica Autostainer XL:

  • Provides reproducible, homogeneous, and high-quality staining.
  • Higher throughput compared to manual staining.
  • Different programs can be saved.
  • Multiple programs can be run simultaneously.
