Description:

This device allows ultra-rapid freezing of tissue samples without the use of liquid nitrogen.

The reference technique using isopentane cooled to -80°C, which does not outgas like liquid nitrogen, enables rapid and reproducible temperature transfer to the sample. Molecular content does not diffuse into the sample, cell membranes are preserved, and tissue damage is avoided.

The equipment features two freezing chambers, individually controllable, to accommodate all freezing protocols and tissue types. The volume of the lower chamber containing the isopentane can be adjusted (from 5 to 680 ml) to suit all sample sizes.
