Production of 4µm to 40µm sections from paraffin-embedded fixed tissues.

The microtome is used to produce ribbons of very thin sections from a block obtained after paraffin embedding of the specimen (removal of water contained in the sample).

This microtome is equipped with a section transfer system called the Niagara system. This system allows the direct transfer of the paraffin section from the disposable blade holder to the integrated de-wrinkler using a water flow. The water flow rate is adjustable.

The Niagara system is particularly useful for dotted sections.
